Nu Instruments joins CAMECA
nu-instruments4 August 2016: AMETEK announced the acquisition of Nu Instruments, a leading provider of high-performance mass spectrometers.

Nu Instruments joins AMETEK's Materials Analysis Divsion as part of the CAMECA business unit, further broadening our product offering and technical capabilities in isotopic and elemental mass spectrometry through their innovative ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry), GD-MS (Glow Discharge Mass Spectrometry) and TIMS (Thermal Ionisation Mass Spectrometry) product lines.

Founded in 1995, Nu Instruments has built a strong reputation across demanding applications in earth and environmental sciences, materials characterization and nuclear isotope analysis. Its current products and markets are highly complementary with the CAMECA SIMS, EPMA and Atom Probe instruments, thus providing substantial opportunities for accelerating product innovation and addressing the most demanding characterization issues for better satisfaction of our customers in academia and industry.

Nu Instruments will now benefit from the powerful CAMECA sales organization, with CAMECA/AMETEK locations in the USA, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Brazil and Russia and a worldwide network our agents.
